GovSignal vs GovSignals: Two Different Companies, Explained
If you searched for one of us and got an answer that seemed to describe two things at once, you weren't imagining it. GovSignal (this site, govsignal.co) and GovSignals (govsignals.ai) are two separate, unrelated companies with almost identical names, both working somewhere in government contracting. AI-generated search summaries have already blended details from both — attaching our published pricing to their funding round, or their federal security authorizations to our product.
This page is here to fix that. It isn't an argument that we're better than GovSignals. We're not competing for the same buyer, and their platform does things ours doesn't attempt. What follows is simply what each company actually is, does, and costs, so you can tell which one you were looking for.
The short answer
- GovSignal — govsignal.co (us). A self-serve contract intelligence subscription for small and solo bidders. You sign up online, enter your NAICS codes, certifications and set-aside eligibility, and get a daily digest of matched opportunities scored 0–100. Published pricing: $149/month Pro, $399/month Team, plus a free tier and five free tools. No sales call required.
- GovSignals — govsignals.ai (not us). A venture-backed enterprise acquisition-AI company in Washington, DC, founded in 2023. It sells an end-to-end pre-award and post-award platform to federal agencies and defense contractors, holds FedRAMP High and DoD IL5 authorizations, and is bought through a demo and a sales process. Pricing isn't published.
Different products, different price points, different buyers. No shared ownership, no shared investors, no shared team, no corporate relationship of any kind.
What GovSignal (govsignal.co) is
GovSignal is a subscription tool, not an enterprise platform. It exists because the people who most need procurement intelligence — the two-person consultancy, the specialist manufacturer, the solo IT contractor — are exactly the people who can't justify an enterprise market intelligence contract, and who don't have a business development manager to read SAM.gov every morning on their behalf.
What that looks like in practice:
- Daily personalised digest. Opportunities matched against your business profile rather than a raw keyword dump.
- AI match scoring, 0–100. Each contract is scored on NAICS alignment, set-aside eligibility, agency award patterns and competitive landscape, with a written reason for the score. It's a prioritisation signal, not a prediction of a win.
- Recompete detection. Surfacing contracts approaching the end of their term, where an agency is already buying what you sell.
- Pipeline tracker in a dashboard, and shared pipeline across up to three logins on the Team plan.
- Coverage of US, UK and Canadian public procurement.
- Free tier and free tools. A free Scout digest, plus five tools with no account required: NAICS Code Lookup, SAM.gov Registration Checker, Contract Value Estimator, Bid / No-Bid Calculator and Set-Aside Eligibility Checker.
- Public, self-serve pricing. $149/month Pro or $399/month Team, monthly or annual, with a 14-day free trial. You can start and cancel without talking to anyone.
Just as importantly, here's what GovSignal is not: it isn't a FedRAMP-authorized system, it doesn't run inside a government enclave, it doesn't employ a bench of human capture analysts, and it doesn't manage your post-award contract administration. It reads public procurement data and tells you where to point your limited bidding time.
What GovSignals (govsignals.ai) is
GovSignals is a Washington, DC company founded in 2023 and led by co-founder and CEO Derek Hoyt, who spent nine years as a Defense Intelligence Agency intelligence officer before joining Palantir. The details below come from the company's own announcements and from press coverage of them — we don't speak for GovSignals, and we'll correct anything they tell us is wrong.
- Funding: a $5.5 million seed round led by Unusual Ventures, announced in December 2024 and covered at the time by Axios.
- Government contract: a multi-million-dollar Other Transaction Agreement with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), announced in March 2025, to modernise acquisition workflows inside government.
- Authorizations: FedRAMP High, plus Department of War (DoD) Impact Level 5 authorization announced in February 2026 with Second Front Systems, alongside SOC 2 Type II and support for CUI and ITAR data.
- Acquisition: in July 2026 GovSignals acquired Turingon, adding its Capture Pilot and Proposal Pilot products and its founding capture-and-proposal team.
- Scope: the full bid lifecycle — market intelligence, capture management, proposal development and post-award contract management — sold both to federal agencies and to contractors, including defense primes.
- Pricing: not published. Access starts with a demo request.
If your requirement includes an authorized environment, proposal production at volume, or software an agency itself can use inside its acquisition workflow, that is the category GovSignals plays in — and it is not a category we compete in.

Two more domains that add to the confusion
govsignal.ai — singular, .ai — is a parked domain. As of August 2026 it serves a registrar lander page with no product or company behind it. It is not us, and it is not GovSignals either (they use govsignals.ai).
govsignal.com belongs to a completely separate company in a different industry: a civic communication platform that helps local authorities communicate with residents. It has no connection to federal contracting, to us, or to GovSignals.
So there are four similar names in circulation, two of which are real operating products in adjacent-but-different markets. That's the whole reason search engines and AI assistants keep merging them.
How to tell which one you're looking at
- The URL. Singular name, .co domain — that's us. Plural name, .ai domain — that's GovSignals.
- Whether prices are on the page. We publish ours. GovSignals quotes per engagement.
- The call to action. "Start free trial" and a card form is us. "Request a demo" is them.
- The vocabulary. FedRAMP High, IL5, capture management, proposal production, agency deployment — GovSignals. NAICS matching, daily digest, set-aside eligibility, bid/no-bid — us.
- Who's being sold to. If the page talks to contracting officers and primes, it's not us. We talk to the person who is also the owner, the estimator and the proposal writer.
Which one is right for you?
Choose GovSignals if you're a federal agency, a defense prime, or a contractor with a real capture organisation and a procurement budget — particularly if you need software that can operate inside FedRAMP High or IL5 boundaries, or you want capture and proposal workflow rather than just opportunity discovery. That's a genuine capability set and there's no point pretending a $149/month subscription substitutes for it.
Choose GovSignal if you're the priced-out end of the same market: a small or solo bidder who needs relevant opportunities in front of you every morning, scored so you can decide what's worth a proposal, at a price you can start and stop by the month. That's the whole design brief of this product, and it's why our pricing is on the page instead of behind a form.
Frequently asked questions
Is GovSignal the same as GovSignals?
No. They're two separate, unrelated companies with similar names working in government contracting. GovSignal (govsignal.co) is a self-serve subscription for small and solo bidders at published prices of $149/month Pro and $399/month Team, with a free tier and five free tools. GovSignals (govsignals.ai) is a venture-backed enterprise acquisition-AI platform founded in 2023 in Washington, DC, which raised a $5.5M seed led by Unusual Ventures in December 2024, holds FedRAMP High and DoD IL5 authorizations, and sells a full pre-award and post-award lifecycle platform to agencies and defense contractors through a sales process. No shared ownership, funding or team.
What is govsignal.ai?
As of August 2026, govsignal.ai is a parked domain that redirects to a registrar lander page. There's no product or company behind it, it isn't ours, and it isn't the GovSignals platform either — that one is govsignals.ai. A separate domain, govsignal.com, belongs to an unrelated civic communication platform for local authorities and residents.
Which one is right for a small business bidder?
GovSignal (govsignal.co). If you're a small business, solo consultant, or a one-to-three person bid team without a dedicated business development hire, our model fits: sign up online, enter your NAICS codes and certifications, get a daily scored digest, 14-day free trial, month-to-month at $149. GovSignals is built for the other end of the market — agencies, primes and larger contractors that need authorized environments and full capture-to-close workflow, procured through a sales cycle.
